Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 29 August 2026

Acceptance and Amendments

By purchasing a ticket or attending an event you agree to these terms. We may amend these terms from time to time; the version published at this URL at the time of your purchase governs your booking.

Tickets & Entry

  • All sales are final, subject to the cancellation policy below.
  • A valid booking confirmation (digital or printed) is required for entry.
  • Late entry may be restricted at our discretion to minimise disruption.
  • We reserve the right to refuse admission.

Pricing & Booking Fees

All ticket prices are quoted in Euros and are inclusive of Portuguese VAT at the applicable rate. A booking fee may be added at checkout and will be shown clearly before payment. Booking fees are non-refundable.

Event Changes & Inclement Weather

We may change the programme, venue, or timings for operational or weather-related reasons. We reserve the right to relocate a screening in case of rain or other adverse weather.

Screenings at World of Wine always go ahead, rain or shine. If the weather turns, we move the session into WOW's beautiful indoor space, a non-traditional and slightly magical cinema experience that most guests who try it absolutely love. A move indoors is a relocation, not a cancellation, and it is not refundable. If that is not a risk you want to take, you can swap your booking for a voucher via Manage Booking up to 48 hours before the event. Refund vouchers are single use, so spend the full value in one purchase.

Cancellations & Refunds

Customer-Initiated Cancellations

  • Tickets are non-refundable in cash. For orders with a total value under €100, you may cancel your booking up to 2 days (48 hours) before the event start time and receive a voucher for the full order value. The 2-day window is strict and not flexible.
  • Cancellations can only be processed through our self-serve platform. Please use the order link in your booking confirmation email to check eligibility and process the cancellation. Our team is unable to process cancellations or issue vouchers on your behalf by email, phone, or social media.
  • An order may only be cancelled once. Once a cancellation has been processed into a voucher, that voucher and any subsequent order paid for using the voucher cannot be cancelled further.
  • We reserve the right to refuse any refund, cancellation, or voucher request at our sole discretion.

Voucher Rules

  • Vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of issue.
  • Vouchers are single use: the full value must be spent in one purchase.
  • Vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash.
  • Vouchers are personal to the original purchaser and are not transferable.
  • Lost or unclaimed vouchers cannot be replaced or extended.

Cancellations by CineSociety

If CineSociety cancels an event outright (as opposed to relocating it indoors due to weather), affected ticket-holders will be offered either a refund to the original payment method or a voucher of equivalent value, at our discretion. Refunds will be processed within 14 days of the cancellation announcement. Our liability is limited to the price paid for the ticket and any associated booking fee. We are not responsible for travel, accommodation, or other consequential costs.

Force Majeure

We are not liable for failure to deliver an event due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, severe weather, industrial action, government order, public-health restrictions, venue failure, or the unavailability of a distributor, film print, or scheduled guest. In such cases we will offer a replacement event or voucher where reasonably possible.

No Right of Withdrawal

Under Article 17(1)(m) of Portuguese Decree-Law 24/2014, the 14-day right of withdrawal applicable to distance contracts does not apply to tickets purchased for events scheduled on a specific date. By purchasing a ticket you acknowledge this exemption. The voluntary voucher-based cancellation policy described above remains available.

Age Ratings & ID

Our screenings carry the age classification issued by IGAC (the Portuguese General Inspectorate for Cultural Activities). Admission may be refused to anyone unable to show valid photo ID confirming they meet the minimum age requirement for a given film. Tickets sold to under-age customers may be voided without refund.

Prohibited Items

  • Outside food and drink (unless explicitly permitted at a given venue)
  • Professional recording, photographic, or broadcasting equipment
  • Glass containers, weapons, and any item deemed unsafe by staff

Conduct, Safety & Right of Admission

All guests must behave respectfully toward staff, performers, and other attendees. We reserve the right to refuse entry, or to remove without refund, anyone causing disruption, behaving abusively, or posing a safety concern.

Ticket Resale

Tickets are sold for personal use only. Commercial resale, touting, or transfer of tickets for profit is prohibited, and we reserve the right to void any ticket found to have been resold in breach of this clause without refund.

Chargebacks

Customers must use the cancellation policy above rather than initiating a payment chargeback. Filing a chargeback while a valid voucher or refund has already been offered may result in the customer being barred from future bookings and any outstanding voucher being voided.

Photography & Filming

We may capture photographs and video at our events for promotional purposes. If you do not wish to appear in such materials, please inform a member of staff at the venue before the screening so we can take reasonable steps to honour your request.

Accessibility

We aim to make our events accessible. If you need step-free access, a companion seat, or any other accommodation, please contact [email protected] at least 48 hours before the event so we can help.

Intellectual Property

All film content and materials are protected by copyright. Unauthorised recording, photography, or reproduction of any screening is strictly prohibited.

Liability

CineSociety is not responsible for injury, loss, or damage to personal property except where caused by our negligence. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited under Portuguese law.

Privacy & Data Protection

The personal data we collect when you book a ticket is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy. The data controller is Sky High Cine Society LDA.

Governing Law & Language

These terms are governed by Portuguese law. Any disputes will be resolved in the Portuguese courts. These terms are published in English and Portuguese; in the event of any discrepancy between the two versions, the Portuguese version prevails.

Online Dispute Resolution

In accordance with EU Regulation 524/2013, consumers in the EU may use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr/ to resolve consumer complaints. Our contact email for such matters is [email protected].

Severability

If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.
